overview

What is a casino games aggregator?

A casino games aggregator is a single integration that resells the catalogues of many studios. Instead of contracting, integrating and certifying each provider separately, you plug into one API and switch games on from an admin panel. For a launching operator it collapses months of engineering into weeks.

The price is a layer of margin. A studio might charge the aggregator around 12% of net gaming revenue; the aggregator charges you 15–18% and keeps the difference. Direct integrations recover roughly 3–5 percentage points of that — at €500–€5,000 setup and two to four weeks of engineering per provider, plus the certification and maintenance burden of every connection you now own.

The part neither side of that trade explains is the licence. Reputable aggregators and studios will not sign a supply agreement without a valid gaming licence, and the certification standards written into their contracts — RNG, platform, jurisdiction-specific game approvals — are your obligation, not theirs. Content is the last thing you should be shopping for, not the first.

The margin stacks. Studio → aggregator → you. Each layer takes a cut of NGR, and the aggregator's 3–6 points are the cost of not doing the engineering yourself.
Direct pays back at scale. 3–5 points recovered is decisive at high volume and irrelevant below it. Model the crossover against your own engineering cost, not the vendor's pitch.
Licence first, content second. Supply agreements are conditional on your licence and your certifications. No licence, no catalogue — and no refund on the platform you already bought.
Game-level market rules. Individual titles are blocked in individual markets. The obligation to geo-fence them sits with the operator, and breaching it is a licence-condition problem.

How does a casino games aggregator work?

01Aggregator only

One integration, thousands of titles, live in 2–4 weeks. The default for a launch and for any operator below serious scale — the aggregator's margin is far cheaper than the engineering and certification cost of running many direct connections.

02Hybrid: aggregator plus direct top titles

Keep the aggregator for the long tail, go direct on the handful of studios that actually drive your revenue. Recovers most of the margin at a fraction of the integration work. Where most scaling operators end up.

03Direct-only

Best economics, worst overhead — every provider is its own contract, integration, certification and maintenance stream at €500–€5,000 setup and 2–4 weeks apiece. Only makes sense with an in-house platform team and volume to justify it.

Title-level market restrictions and who is liable if a blocked game is served
Single wallet vs. transfer wallet, and what it does to your bonus engine
Round-history and audit endpoints your regulator will ask for

  4. Banking around the content Merchant accounts and PSPs that will settle a licensed casino, so the games have somewhere to send money. Parallel

Casino games aggregator FAQ

What is a casino games aggregator?

A single API that resells the catalogues of many game studios. You integrate once and enable titles from an admin panel, instead of contracting, integrating and certifying every studio separately. It is the fastest way to a full lobby — typically 2–4 weeks against 8–12 weeks for direct integrations.

How much does a casino games aggregator cost?

There is rarely a large upfront fee — the cost is revenue share, typically 12–20% of net gaming revenue. That figure covers both the aggregator's own margin and the pass-through to the studios: a studio might charge the aggregator around 12% of NGR, the aggregator charges you 15–18%, and keeps 3–6 points as its service fee.

Is direct integration cheaper than an aggregator?

Per spin, yes — direct deals typically recover 3–5 percentage points of revenue share. In total cost, usually no until you are at real scale: each direct provider is €500–€5,000 of setup, 2–4 weeks of engineering, its own certification and permanent maintenance. Below significant volume the aggregator margin is cheaper than the headcount.

Do I need a licence to sign an aggregator?

Yes. Reputable aggregators and studios contract only with licensed operators, and the supply agreement will name the certification standards you must hold. This is why content should be the last procurement step, not the first — operators who buy a platform and a game deal before securing a licence routinely lose both deposits.

GGR or NGR — which does the aggregator take?

Ask, and get it in writing. NGR definitions vary wildly: bonus cost, payment fees, chargebacks, affiliate commission and gaming duty may or may not come off before the split. A 15% share on a favourable NGR definition can cost less than a 12% share on a harsh one.

Who is liable if a game is served in a blocked market?

You are, in almost every contract. Individual titles carry country restrictions from the studio, and enforcing them is an operator obligation that maps straight onto your licence conditions. Get the restriction list as machine-readable data, enforce it at the platform layer, and check it every time the catalogue changes.
