What this covers
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Browsers also offer localStorage and sessionStorage, which work in a similar way. This page lists everything this site stores on your device, and the measurement that runs without storing anything.
Your choice
Visitors in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands (on this page, "Europe") see a banner first. Nothing optional is stored until you click Accept. If we cannot tell where you are, we treat you the same way.
If you click Accept:
- Google Analytics sets its cookies and counts your visits.
- Microsoft Clarity loads, sets its cookies and records how you use pages (clicks, scrolling, taps and mouse movement). Clarity also contacts Microsoft domains that can set Microsoft's own cookies.
- We keep a note in your browser of how you first found us, so an enquiry you send later carries it.
In Europe, accepting covers analytics only. Google's advertising consent stays refused, Google Signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and no Google Ads cookie is set. When you press a Telegram, email, phone or Book a call link, send a form or subscribe, Google Ads gets only the cookieless ping described under "Measurement without cookies". If an earlier visit left Google Ads cookies here, the site deletes them.
If you click Essential only, none of the optional items below is stored and Clarity does not load. Choosing it later also deletes the Google Analytics, Google Ads and Clarity cookies on this site and our own attribution keys, and removes the reference code from the Telegram and email links on the page you are on.
Outside Europe, the optional items are on by default. There, Google's advertising consent is granted too, so Google may use the visit for ad measurement and ad personalisation, and if you are signed in to a Google account, Google may connect the visit to it under its own settings. Google's tag reports a Telegram, email, phone or Book a call press, a form or a subscription to Google Ads as a conversion and sets the Google Ads items listed below. If you arrived from a Google ad, the ad's click ID is stored as soon as the page loads. You can switch all of this off the same way.
To change your mind at any time, use the Cookie settings button at the bottom of every page.
Always on (strictly necessary)
| Name | Type and domain | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|---|
vg-cookie-consent | localStorage, this site | Vantegris | Remembers your choice (Accept or Essential only). | Until you clear it or change it under Cookie settings |
vg_geo | sessionStorage, this site | Vantegris | Caches the country our server detects, so we know whether to ask for consent first. | Until you close the tab |
vg_fab_nudged | sessionStorage, this site | Vantegris | Stops the contact-button hint from showing more than once. | Until you close the tab |
vg-blog-cards-retry | sessionStorage, this site | Vantegris | Notes when the blog page last reloaded itself after a site update, so it reloads at most once every five minutes. | Until you close the tab |
vg_prev | sessionStorage, this site | Vantegris | Remembers which page you came from inside this site (and, from the cost calculator, whether you chose gaming or crypto), so the contact form can ask the right question after a reload. | Until you close the tab |
vg_ct_draft | sessionStorage, this site | Vantegris | Kept only in this tab so what you typed into the contact form (name, email, phone, Telegram or WhatsApp, message and the service you chose) survives a detour, for example to read this policy, and the Back button. It is a draft you start yourself, so it does not depend on analytics consent, and it never leaves your browser until you press Send. A fresh visit to the contact page starts with an empty form. | Cleared when you send the form, when you withdraw consent, or when you close the tab |
If Cloudflare's security checks need to challenge your browser, Cloudflare sets its own short-lived security cookie to remember that you passed.
Only with your consent (or by default outside Europe)

Outside Europe only (on by default)
These Google Ads items are never set for visitors in Europe, whether or not they accept. Elsewhere they are set by default and deleted when you choose Essential only.

_gcl_au | Cookie, .vantegris.com | Google Ads | Google's conversion linker. Set the first time you press a Telegram, email, phone or Book a call link, send a form or subscribe, so Google Ads can count that action and link it to an ad you may have clicked. | 90 days |

Stores ad-click details (such as a Google Ads click ID) and a counter Google uses for conversion measurement. | Until you clear it or choose Essential only |
Measurement without cookies
Some measurement runs for every visitor and stores nothing on your device.
If you are in Europe, the site removes any ad click ID (such as gclid, msclkid or fbclid) from the page address in your address bar as the page loads, before Ahrefs Web Analytics, Microsoft Clarity or Google's tag reads it, whether or not you have accepted. Campaign tags (the utm_ parameters) stay in the address. Outside Europe the address is left as it is.
- Ahrefs Web Analytics counts page views without cookies. It receives the page address and the referring address as your browser has them, so campaign tags are included. It gets an ad click ID only outside Europe (see above). It also records the address of links you click; for the Telegram and email buttons after you accept (or outside Europe), that includes the reference code.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics, added by Cloudflare as it delivers the page, measures page load and visits without cookies. It removes everything after the "?" from the page address and the referring address before sending them, so it gets no campaign tags or ad click IDs.
- Google Analytics loads for everyone. While you have not accepted (or after Essential only), it sends Google cookieless pings about the page view, with no identifier stored in your browser. Google uses them for aggregate reporting and modelling. In Europe, the page address in these pings has any ad click ID taken out. Once you accept, Google Analytics receives the address you arrived on with Google's own ad click IDs (such as gclid) left in, so it may include the click ID of a Google ad you came from; with advertising consent refused, it is used for analytics only. Click IDs from other ad networks (such as msclkid or fbclid) never reach Google from a visit in Europe.
- Google Ads gets the same kind of cookieless ping when you press a Telegram, email, phone or Book a call link, send a form or subscribe. In Europe this is all Google Ads gets, before and after you accept, and it carries no ad click ID: the site takes out other networks' click IDs and Google's tag blanks its own. Elsewhere Google Ads gets this ping only after you choose Essential only. No Google Ads cookie is set.
Each of these providers receives your IP address as part of the request, as any website request does.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also delete or block cookies and site data in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary items means the banner will ask you again on each visit.
